The Goddess Re-Awakening: The Feminine Principle Today
Published in Paperback by Theosophical Publishing House (May, 1989)
Authors: Shirley Nicholson and Merlin Stone
Average review score:

CHRIST AND SOPHIA IN US
There is indeed a re-awakening of the female deity, mostly for me since 1975. This book may be a little difficult for some people, so look for the highlights of Sophia with Christ, our twin hopes of glory. The Twin-Saviors are explained in the book "Pistis Sophia", G.R.S. Mead, sayings taken from the books of the Savior. Rabbi Novick wrote about her as the Shechinah, Divine Mother as Chochmah (Wisdom) same meaning for Sophia . Jesus is indeed her "light twin, and spouse",as Stephan A. Hoeller writes. The re-awakening comes from Above, the Spirit, the Logos, the Savior, and the whole world must accept the Gnosis of this fact to find the "First Mystery" as Jesus explained in Pistis Sophia. The Front picture is beautiful of Sophia, and all the writers should be highly exalted for their efforts to bring the Gnosis of the Savior to the lost children in the world. Also, "She Who Is", Elizabeth Johnson, should be read alongside this book, with "Prayers to She Who Is , William Cleary, who wrote the most true words ever said about Sophia. Jesus and Sophia are Twins, male and female from the Pleroma. When Jesus spoke of the "Fall" of Sophia, he was also referring to his material life on earth, and his distress, thinking his sister Sophia was gone, and she was not, she was his own soul. By the prophets, this doctrine of Gnosis can be proven. This is a very valuable book to the world. Thanks to all the writers.

Going Home: A Collection of Stories
Published in Paperback by 1stBooks Library (July, 2000)
Author: Alex B. Stone
Average review score:

Who can he tell?
The well-crafted, artfully told short story has so few outlets--yet it's a form that allows authors like Alex Stone to give us a glimpse of lives we wouldn't encounter elsewhere, and to help us appreciate their universality. The stories in Going Home are quiet, the revelations small. There's the aging businessman whose friend notes the possibilities of a fling with a younger woman. "The way Fred told it to me, he was seduced, raped, by a twenty-year-old English major from Wichita. That, my boy Mel, could happen to you, too." The unintended consequence of Mel's diversion is a son he learns of only later. And who can he tell? The connecting thread of these stories is the life of Midwestern Jews, who have become prosperous, familiar in their communities, yet never fully assimilated. Stone's characters are a few degrees off center in their world, much like Updike's, and a few degrees off center from themselves. They are vulnerable to surprises that they dare not share. Stone writes elegantly, with intelligence and with sympathy for his characters that never obscures his vision. Highly recommended.

Golden Stone: The Untold Life and Tragic Death of Brian Jones
Published in Hardcover by St. Martin's Press (December, 1993)
Author: Laura Jackson
Average review score:

one more point of view, an interesting one
There are many opinions and contradicting 'first hand accounts' about Brian Jones life and death. The only choice a serious fan has is to compare and contrast a good sample of the books available. While Bill Wyman's book may be more detailed, 'Golden Stone' is many steps above the average teeny-bopper fare available on Jones, and is a necessary additon for any real B.J. enthusiast.

The Graduate's Predictionary: A Safe-Deposit Box of Hopes, Plans, Promises, and Expectations for Your First Ten Years Out of School

A fun alternative to graduation gifts...
My sister-in-law recieved this book for her high school graduation. We had so much fun completing the questionnaires that we have started to give the item as graduation gifts. We also got one when my husband and I were married, the Newlyweds Predictionary, and we are dying to see what people wrote about us, four years ago. We have 6 more years to go before opening it, but we can hardly wait. This is a great keepsake gift, that will bring laughs and fond memories flooding back to a graduate, in years to come.

Grand Canyon Journey: Tracing Time in Stone
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 2001)
Author: Peter Anderson
Average review score:

A great book for kids about the Grand Canyon
My son is in first grade and an avid reader. He selected this book from his school library and reading two chapters a night, we finished it in less than a week. Even thought it looks complex, the text and the illustrations in the book are wonderful. It's very well written and easy to read. My son knows most of the words in the book, and there is a glossary in the back for specific terminology. It's very engaging and stimulating even for an adult. I love reading it to him!

Authors: Daniel Billiet and Nicole Rutten
Average review score:

Stone moles: an endangered species?
In The great invason of the Stone Moles, Daniel Billiet, a youth poet from Belgium, writes with amazing empathy about how an entire colony of moles is endangered because of man's unthoughtful behavior. Nicole Rutten's drawings make you really like the little animals, who try to protest against what's being done to them. In a little girl, they find a friend who helps them to save their natural habitat. Spread all over the world, this book will be heart-warming to all the kids between 5 and 55. Enjoy!

Ha li po te - shen mi de mo fa shi ('Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' in Traditional Chinese Characters)
Published in Paperback by Tsai Fong Books, Inc (June, 2000)
Author: J.K. Rowling
Average review score:

More exciting to read as mother language!!
Of course, JKR's first book was the most eye-widening book among the 5 books (up till now) and it's more exciting to read in mother language as it takes time for a chinese to read an english book. (I guess there's no need for me to explain the greatness of the Rowling books) So lets go back to the translation. It's nice (but not great) as this edition is translated by Taiwanese which use lots of slang language which other Chinese-speaking people do not understand. So, personally, I would suggest the Simplied Chinese editon for nicer translation.
